Millions of people moving each year and the amount of household waste also increases.
25% moved within the same country, 10% between counties in the same state, 8% between states, and 3% had moved here from abroad.
Most of that waste is in the form of paper and paperboard. some are derived from plastics,textiles and wood.The following are the some of the tips to reduce wait when you move. They include:
- Don't buy new boxes .Use the same boxes what you have.or else ask with the neighbour those have been shifted.
- If you are not able to scrounge up with old boxes,then go with corrugated boxes .
- Pack your clothes, linens, and other items in suitcases or duffel bags .
- Ask your moving company about renting reusable boxes. These boxes can last about 10 years and get recycled.
- Use old newspapers to wrap your fragile items.
- Use packing materials like cushioning peanuts made of biodegradable cornstarch and bubble wrap containing post-consumer recycled plastic.
- Dispose waste household cleaners, paints, automotive supplies, and other items that require special disposal.so that you can reduce waste.
- Sell clothes that don't fit. Toys, appliances, books and any other items you don't want to move can be sold.
- Donate any leftover items to charity.
